Title 1 Information

The Title I program provides extra help to students using designated money from the government. This help is given to students who need more time and instruction to do well in their classes. Schools that get this help are picked each year based on a special formula from the state. Our Potterville Elementary School has a Title I program.

The point of Title I is to:

  1. Make sure every child can get a good education.
  2. Help students do better in school.
  3. Get parents more involved in their child's education.
  4. Support  the school staff.

The help given with Title I depends on what students need. It can be in reading, math, or both. Teachers figure out who needs this help by looking at test scores, how well kids do in class, and what teachers suggest.

Parents will get a letter if their child can get help from Title I. How long the help lasts depends on what each student needs.
