Required Communication for Safe Storage Legislation

Dear Potterville Public Schools Families,

The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain among our highest priorities at Potterville Public Schools.

As part of Michigan's Safe Storage Law requirements, school districts are required annually to provide parents and legal guardians with information regarding the secure storage of firearms. We are sharing the State of Michigan's Safe Storage Law information with all Potterville Public Schools families as part of this requirement.

Michigan law establishes requirements for the safe storage of firearms when minors are or are likely to be present. The attached information provided by the State of Michigan explains the law, safe storage practices, and resources available to families.

We encourage families to review this important safety information. Safe and responsible firearm storage can help prevent unauthorized access and contributes to the safety of our children, schools, and community.
