Daniel Gilbertson - Superintendent Welcome
Daniel Gilbertson, Superintendent
Potterville Public Schools
I am honored to serve as Superintendent of Potterville Public Schools. With more than 30 years of experience in public education, I have dedicated my career to serving students, supporting educators, and building school communities where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director, and superintendent. These diverse leadership experiences have shaped my belief that successful schools are built on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to putting students first.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Wayne State University, my Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University, and my Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Saginaw Valley State University. I am a lifelong learner who believes that continuous growth is essential for both educators and school leaders.
At the heart of my leadership philosophy is a commitment to building trusting relationships. I believe the strongest schools are those where students, staff, families, and community members feel valued, respected, and heard. Through open communication, transparency, and collaboration, I strive to create an environment where people work together to solve challenges, celebrate successes, and continually improve.
I am passionate about providing every student with a world-class educational experience in state-of-the-art learning environments that prepare them for success in college, careers, and life. I believe every decision should be guided by what is best for students and am committed to supporting high-quality instruction, innovation, student well-being, and responsible stewardship of district resources.
I believe that when we build trusting relationships, communicate openly, and work together with a shared purpose, there is no limit to what our students can accomplish. I am excited to partner with our Board of Education, staff, students, families, and community as we continue moving Potterville Public Schools from great to exemplary.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the Potterville community. I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside all of you as we create exceptional opportunities for every student and ensure Potterville Public Schools remains a source of pride for generations to come.
Go Vikings! Daniel E. Gilbertson
